Call for papers: Archaeology in Wales Volume 56

AW is Wales’ foremost national archaeological journal and is published annually by the CBA Cymru/Wales group. It features a comprehensive gazetteer of recent archaeological work in Wales as well as book reviews, surveys of recent literature, a report on environmental archaeology by the Cadw-funded archaeologist for Wales and a portable antiquities assessment. The journal is free to CBA Cymru/Wales members.

Call for papers in the following categories: synthetic , themed and research articles (up to 7000 words in length), shorter, interim reports and final, excavation or project reports. Deadline is May 31st 2017.

Archaeology in Wales, which is published annually, is intended to provide an overview of current and recent archaeological work in Wales, and carries a number of categories of material, as follows:
  • synthetic articles, providing an overview of a topic or period;
  • short interim statements on specific sites;
  • shorter final excavation reports;
  • longer excavation reports;
  • the gazetteer, which is central to the objectives of the publication;
  • book reviews and a survey of recent literature.
